Community Powered Hero Contest

Beu's Community Powered Heroes Contest

BEU WebsiteOur community works together to help us all make the City of Banning a great place to live. As your community-owned utility, we provide power to help our community members do amazing things. We want to know: Who are the heroes in our community? Everyone has their own ideas for what makes someone a hero, and we know that our community is filled with unsung heroes. To highlight these individuals, we want to hear from young people about who inspires them, boosts their spirits, and helps them and their community become better! That’s why we’re inviting your students to participate in the City of Banning Electric Utility Community Powered Heroes Contest.

How to Enter the Contest.
1.Banning children and students can start by describing a community powered hero — whether their hero is one of their teachers, their soccer coach, a Scout leader, or anyone else! Ask them to then creatively color in Beu the Bulbman to represent their community powered hero. The poster can be printed on standard 8 1/2 x 11 (or larger)paper. Have fun and be creative.

2.To be eligible, students or their parents or caregiver can bring the poster to our Public Power Market Night event on Friday, October 2nd from 4:00-8:00pm or drop by our office at 176 E. Lincoln St from 7:00am to 4:00pm M-Th. We will have a booth dedicated to the Community Powered Heroes Contest at our Public Power Market Night event on Friday, October 2nd for those who want to create their poster.

3. Then, please share the poster on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag (#CommunityPowered) and tagging #BanningElectric.

4.All posters must be submitted by Friday, October 2nd. The Winner will be announced the following week.

We will choose one winner from our community who will receive a Nintendo Switch Lite ($200 value). The winner will be contacted by phone and/or email. It is important to complete the contact information section on the poster.
