The Banning Office of the Fire Marshal operates under the Riverside County Fire Department and provides fire prevention services to the City of Banning through a formal contract. The division delivers a full range of services, including plan reviews and inspections, all aimed at protecting the lives and property of our residents and businesses.
At the heart of our mission is to safeguard the community from fire and environmental hazards. Through a variety of proactive programs, the division works to reduce the risk of injuries, loss of life, and property damage. This is achieved by ensuring compliance with fire regulations, offering public education, and conducting regular fire inspections.
Our fire prevention services extend to include:
- New Construction Services – Ensuring that new developments meet all applicable fire and safety codes.
- Inspection Services – Conducting routine and specialized inspections to maintain safety standards and identify potential hazards.
The Fire Prevention Office is comprised of a dedicated team, including a Supervising Fire Marshal, a Fire Safety Specialist, and a Fire Permit Technician. The office is located at 99 E Ramsey Street, Banning, CA 92220, inside Banning City Hall.
The Office of the Fire Marshal enforces the 2022 editions of the California Fire, Building, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Residential Codes, as adopted and amended by the City of Banning Municipal Code. Additionally, the office upholds standards established by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Title 19 of the California Code of Regulations, and the California Health and Safety Code.
