Planned Power Outage for Approximately 168 Customers on August 1st
The temporary outage is necessary to perform system improvements and will occur from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM
The City of Banning Electric Department will temporarily shut down power for approximately 168 customers on August 1st from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The outage is necessary to perform system upgrades as part of the City's 12KV conversion. The outage will be conducted in phases which will result in no single customer being without service for longer than approximately two consecutive hours.
The outage is expected to only impact customers in sections on the north side of Banning (8th Street to San Gorgonio Avenue/Wilson Street to Repplier Road). Customers affected by the outage have already received a door hangar tag on their property. Please remember to keep appliances closed as much as possible during the power outage. Residents concerned about the heat are encouraged to visit the Banning Senior Center (769 N San Gorgonio Ave), which operates as a cooling center from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
