Banning, CA – Concealed carry weapon (CCW) permits have been in high demand in Riverside County. While the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department typically issues CCW licenses, they receive a significant amount of requests per month and can take nearly two years to complete. By utilizing the MyCCW.us Program, the Banning Police Department will be able to offer Banning residents the opportunity to receive a CCW permit in as little as two to three months.
MyCCW.us currently provides CCW processing services for the Beaumont and Murrieta Police Departments. The service utilizes POST Certified Background Investigators to review applications and ensure that candidates meet the requirements for the issuance of a CCW permit and that all required forms, safety courses and other processes have been completed. A report is then submitted to the Banning Police Department’s CCW Coordinator for final review and approval by the Chief of Police.
“MyCCW.us provides our residents with a quicker path to receiving a CCW permit while ensuring that all necessary laws and guidelines are followed,” said Acting City Manager and Chief of Police Alex Diaz. “There is zero additional cost to the City to provide this service and hopefully eases the burden on the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.”
Residents interested in applying for a CCW can do so online by clicking on the “Banning CCW” tab at www.myccw.us. Applications are also available at the Banning Police Department located at 125 E. Ramsey Street. Individuals applying for a CCW permit must meet all the necessary requirements before a permit will be issued.
